Synopsis

In 1999, Warren Leight’s Sideman won the Tony for best new play. Now, decades later, it is being reimagined as a rare theatrical experience. Audiences are encouraged to arrive early, stumbling into a live jazz performance which carries the authentic pulse of a New York City Night club. Then when the clock strikes 8, we’re thrust into the heartfelt journey of Clifford, a man who must navigate a broken family and the decline of a precious artform simultaneously. In this workshopped stage-reading with music, we experience Leight’s prolific play anew.
